Common questions

Getting started
What do I need to get started?

An iPhone and a valid email address. You enter your email and receive a six-digit code from us; enter that code into the app, then choose whether to start your own household or join an existing one. If you are starting your own, you then complete your puppy's profile.

I never got my six-digit code.

Codes arrive by email and they do land in spam and junk folders. There is a Resend button under the code box; a fresh code replaces the old one. Sign-up and password reset both work this way — there is never a link to click.

Can I track more than one dog?

Not yet. A household keeps one pup's log today, and everything on the Activity and Summary tabs is that one dog's day.

Logging and the day
What is the difference between tapping a log button and holding it?

A tap writes it straight away with the usual details filled in, so recording a pee is one press. Holding the same button opens the form first — details, tags, a note, a different time — and nothing is written until you press Log. Cancel on that form really does cancel.

I forgot to log something. Can I add it at the right time?

Yes. Tap the awake stretch it happened during and set the real time. To correct an existing time, open the row and adjust it on the wheels.

The log buttons have disappeared.

They always mean "now", so they are hidden on any day but today, and while you are reshaping a day in the editor. To add something at an earlier time, tap the awake stretch it belongs in.

Why is a day "bedtime to bedtime"?

A 2 am potty break belongs to the night it interrupted, not to the next calendar day. Running the day from one bedtime to the next keeps the overnight in one piece.

Do I have to say whether a sleep was a nap or part of the night?

No, and you are never asked. You say your pup went down and got up; whether that was a nap or part of the night is worked out from the shape of the day, where sleeps separated by nothing but a potty break are one night. It is not knowable at bedtime, so guessing would only make the totals wrong.

Nobody pressed Sleep last night. Is the night lost?

No. Tap the awake stretch and there is a door for "was asleep before this", which puts the night in behind it. The start time is seeded from your household's usual bedtime once there are enough nights to learn one, and the sheet tells you which it used. Move it to whatever is right.

Can I keep vet visits, vaccines or medications in here?

Not as records of their own. Anything you want to remember can go in as a note with a date, and notes are kept in a searchable list on the Summary tab. Proper health records may come later.

Fixing mistakes
It will not let me save a time.

Three shapes are not allowed: an event inside a sleep, two sleeps overlapping, and a sleep ending before it starts. When a save is blocked the app shows what is in the way and offers a one-press fix. Nothing moves until you say so — it never quietly adjusts a time to make it fit.

How do I delete something, and can I undo it?

Swipe a row left. To remove several, hold a row until the selection bar appears and tap the rest. Undo sits at the end of the day's heading and goes back ten steps, and the other phone sees the undo the same way it saw the change.

All the times look an hour off.

Times are stored in universal time and shown in your household's time zone, which is set in Settings. If you have travelled, your phone's zone and the household's can disagree — matching them is a deliberate step, so two people in two places still read one shared day.

Household and sync
How does a second person join?

The first person creates the household. In the app go to More › Household › Invite someone; a short code appears, valid for ten minutes. The second person enters it after signing up on their own phone. From then on both see one shared day.

My partner logged something and I cannot see it.

First check both phones are in the same household — More › Household lists who is in it. Changes normally appear within a second or two. If their phone was offline the write is held on that phone and goes out as soon as it has signal, so it arrives late rather than not at all.

The same event is showing twice.

If two people logged the same thing within a few minutes, the app marks the pair rather than merging them — sometimes a pup really does pee twice in a minute, and only you can tell. Delete whichever one is wrong.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Everything is written to your phone first and sent when there is a connection. Nothing is lost and nothing is sent twice.

On your phone
Will it keep sending me notifications?

Only if you switch them on, in Settings › General › Notifications; they are off until you do. What arrives is one reminder when nothing has been logged for three hours while your pup is awake, at most twice a day, and anything logged on either phone resets the clock.

Will it tell me when my pup needs to go out?

No. It shows what has actually been logged — how long since the last pee, how the days have looked — and leaves the reading of it to you. It has no idea what is due for your pup, and an app that guesses is worse than one that says nothing.

Is there a home screen widget?

Yes, a small one showing what the status box shows: awake or asleep and for how long, how long since the last pee and poop, and your pup's photo. Holding the app icon also gives you rows for sleep or wake, pee and poop, which open the app and write exactly as the buttons do.

Does it have a dark mode?

Yes — light, dark, or match your phone, under Settings › General › Appearance. The choice is kept per phone, so the two of you can pick differently.

Your account and privacy
Is my data shared with anyone?

Your log is shared with your household and nobody else. There is no analytics company, no advertiser and no third-party tracker involved, and nothing is sold. The app does send crash reports and timing figures to its own database so faults can be found and fixed — those carry the error, the app version and a trail drawn from a fixed list of screen names, never anything you typed or anything about your dog, and you can switch them off under Settings › General › Share diagnostics. Details in the privacy policy.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. More › Account › Export your data writes a ZIP holding two spreadsheets — every event ever logged, with its times, notes and tags, and every weigh-in — and hands it to the iOS share sheet to save or send wherever you like. The other route is AI access: switch it on and your own AI assistant can read the whole log and answer in whatever shape you ask for.

What is AI access?

A switch in Settings › General that mints a private link to your household's log. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or anything else that takes an MCP connector, and it can read the log and answer questions about it; it can never write or change anything. The app itself still sends nothing to any AI, and anyone holding the link can read until you switch it off. Each person switches their own on or off, with their own link, and one member's choice does not touch another's — under a household master switch: the admin decides whether AI access is available to the household at all, and switching it off pauses every member's link until it is switched back on.

How do I delete my account?

More › Account › Delete account and all data. If someone else is in your household the shared history stays for them; if you are the only member, the household and its data are deleted with you.
